Leica has been manufacturing binoculars since 1907, making them one of the oldest and most reliable brands in the world. While their products certainly don't come cheap, many of their owners will argue that you get what you pay for as Leica binoculars are some of the best and durable on the market. In addition they often have rangefinders built into them which can be connected to other devices through Bluetooth or cable. Depending on the model these rangefinders are accurate up to 3,200 yards / 3000 meters. Some binoculars even include on board sensors that give air pressure, temperature and angle readings.
Lastly Leica offers an incredibly no-questions, no-fault, 10-year accidental damage coverage plan in addition to a 30-year Manufacturer's Warranty to US customers. This means that, during the first 10-years, Leica will repair or replace any binoculars in the event it is damaged, at no cost to the customer. After that, you enjoy another 20 years of standard manufacturers warranty. Customers outside the US still enjoy an incredible 10 year warranty.

The origin of any of the raw materials and electronics is currently unknown.
The binoculars are made in both Germany and Portugal. Most of the machining to happens in Portugal, with some binoculars then finished in Germany with German produced lenses. However most binoculars are made almost entirely in Portugal, especially those with built-in range finders. Most users don't report any quality difference between those binoculars made in Germany and those made in Portugal. [1]
